Zvi and Dora Fabian, new immigrants from Germany, arrived in Raanana in 1934. Zvi, an avid book lover, began collecting books in different languages ​​and distributing them among his fellow immigrants. At first, he carried around a backpack full of books, but as his collection grew, he built a wooden cart and harnessed his donkey "Julius" to it. This is how he became a well-known bookseller throughout the area. Later, the couple opened a large bookstore in the center of Raanana, and later another store that also included office supplies, writing instruments and gifts.
